About
Richard is a Venice-based commercial director and photographer. Richard brings a background in action sports and a love for the outdoors to his comedy/dialogue and visual storytelling work. He was an award-winning copywriter prior to becoming an award-winning commercial director. His PSA for the Life Rolls On Foundation, entitled “Pool”, earned him an Emmy-nomination in the national public service category. Long format credits include a TV episode for Sundance Film Channel starring Academy Award-nominee Bob Balaban and the MySpace hit documentary short entitled “Floating,” EP’d by Oscar-nominee Morgan Spurlock. Richard was trained in photography at the Rhode Island School of Design-one of his photos can be seen on the hard cover edition of Kem Nunn’s latest novel–and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University. He is well known for his work as founder of “They Will Surf Again,” the nation’s first program for disabled surfers. When he’s not directing, or shooting photos, he’s surfing. Directing Honors:
